An American in Paris extends in the West End

The musical An American in Paris has extended for a second time in the West End.

Christopher Wheeldon's musical is now taking bookings at the Dominion Theatre until 28th April 2018.

The cast currently includes Ashley Day (as Jerry Mulligan) and Leanne Cope (as Lise Dassin) with Haydn Oakley as Henri Baurel, Zoë Rainey as Milo Davenport, David Seadon-Young as Adam Hochberg and Julie Legrand as Madame Baurel.

An American in Paris is based on the Academy Award-winning film, and follows Jerry Mulligan, and American GI who stays in Paris following the liberation, and falls in love with a French ballerina called Lise.  The story is set to a score of Gershwin tunes, and features the songs "I Got Rhythm" and "'S Wonderful".

An American in Paris premiered in 2014 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris before transferring to the Palace Theatre on Broadway during the 2015/16 season, where it won four Tony Awards.

The musical has music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a new book by Craig Lucas, and is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon with set and costumes designs by Bob Crowley.
