A new production of Annie Jr. will run at the Arts Theatre in London's West End this summer, featuring a rotating cast of 8 sets of young people, from 29 July to 31 August 2015. There will be two press performances on 3 August 2015.

This abridged 60 minute version is based on the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name which features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and a book by Thomas Meehan. The score includes songs such as "Tomorrow", "Hard Knock Life" and "Easy Street".

"Follow plucky 11-year-old Annie in 1930s America who dreams of escaping the clutches of the horrible child-hating orphanage matron, Miss Hannigan, and finding her real parents. Annie's life gets exciting the day billionaire businessman Oliver "Daddy Warbucks opens his home to her and her dog, Sandy."

Produced and directed by Matthew Chandler of P2P Productions, the production saw more than 2,900 children audition, with parts going to 350 young Londoners. He said of the announcement:

"It is a fantastic opportunity for all the youngsters involved - and features one of the greatest child roles ever written. The fact we are performing it in the West End is the icing on the cake for the youngsters involved..."

Tickets for the production are now on sale.
