Bryan Cranston is set to reprise the role that won him an Olivier Award as he transfers with the National Theatre's production of Network, directed by Ivo van Hove.

Lee Hall's adaptation of the 1976 Paddy Chayefsky film of the same name ran in the Lyttelton last year and sees Cranston - best-known for playing science teacher-cum-drug lord in the cult TV series Breaking Bad - star as messianic news anchor Howard Beale. Cranston won this year's Olivier for best actor in a play for the role.

Network will run on Broadway for a 16 week run at the Cort Theatre from 10th November 2018, with an official opening on 6th December.

It's not yet clear whether the production's onstage restaurant, which designer Jan Versweyveld told LondonTheatre.co.uk was an integral part of the show, will also be a part of the Broadway production.

Further casting for the Broadway run is also yet to be announced.
