Bush Theatre announces cast for Ramona Tells Jim and Of Kith and Kin

Casting has been announced for two upcoming productions at the Bush Theatre: Ramona Tells Jim and Of Kith and Kin.

Ramona Tells Jim is a new play written by actress Sophie Wu, known for her roles in the movie Kick-Ass and TV series Fresh Meat. Directed by Mel Hillyard, the play tells the story of Ramona, a 15-year-old on a Geography trip to Scotland where she meets Jim. The play is about how their meeting changed the rest of their lives.

It will star Ruby Bentall (Britten in Brooklyn) as Ramona, Joe Bannister (As You Like It, National) as Jim, and Amy Lennox (Lazarus, Kinky Boots) as Pocahontas. The production, which has designs by Lucy Sierra, will run in the Studio space from 20th September to 21st October.

Of Kith and Kin is Chris Thompson's new play about a couple, Daniel and Oliver, who are about to have their first baby with their best friend Priya acting as their surrogate.

The play will feature James Lance (The Dead Monkey) as Daniel, Joshua Silver (Photograph 51) as Oliver and Chetna Pandya (Guess Who's Coming to Tea) as Priya. The cast also includes Joanna Bacon and Donna Berlin.

Of Kith and Kin will run in the Theatre from 18th October to 25th November following a run in Sheffield from 14th September. It will be directed by the Bush artistic director Robert Hastie, with designs by James Perkins.
