Cast update at Shakespeare's Globe

The Shakespeare Globe Theatre has announced some casting for its 2009 season which opens on Shakespeare's birthday, 23 April, running to 10 Oct 2009, and goes under the overall title of 'Young Hearts'

ROMEO AND JULIET, by William Shakespeare, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, opens 30 Apr 2009, following previews from 23 April - running to 23 Aug 2009. Cast includes Adetomiwa Edun (Romeo), Jack Farthing (Benvolio), Ellie Kendrick (Juliet), Rawiri Paratene (Friar Laurence), Ukweli Roach (Tybalt), Tom Stuart (Paris)

THE FRONTLINE, by Che Walker, directed by Matthew Dunster, returns to the Globe, opening 8 May 2009, following previews from 5 May - running to 23 May 2009. Cast includes Naana Agyei-Ampadu (Babydoll), Huss Garbiya (Carlton), Trystan Gravelle (Mordechai Thurrock), Robert Gwylim (Cockburn), Paul Lloyd (Seamus), Golda Rosheuvel (Beth), John Stahl (Erkenwald). Set on a Saturday night outside Camden tube and presents a modern, vigorous tale of London life on the edge.

AS YOU LIKE IT, by William Shakespeare, directed by Thea Sharrock, opens 8 June 2009, following previews from 30 May - running to 10 Oct 2009. Cast includes Naomi Frederick (Rosalind), Laura Rogers (Celia)

TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, by William Shakespeare, directed by Matthew Dunster, opens 22 July 2009, following previews from 12 July - running to 20 Sep 2009. Cast includes Trystan Gravelle (Achilles)

HELEN, by Euripides in a new version by Frank McGuinness, directed by Deborah Bruce, has its World Premiere, opening 5 Aug 2009, following previews from 1 Aug - running to 23 Aug 2009. Cast includes Penny Downie (Helen). Strange, comic, fairy-tale-like romance.

A NEW WORLD, by Trevor Griffiths, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, has its World Premiere, opening 3 Sep 2009, following previews from 29 Aug - running to 9 Oct 2009. A play about the British revolutionary Thomas Paine. This moving and epic story charts the life and loves of the author of The Rights of Man with songs, music and the huge carnival spirit of a world turned upside down.

LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, by William Shakespeare, directed by Dominic Dromgoole, returns to the Globe, opening 30 Sep 2009, following previews from 25 Sep - running to 10 Oct 2009.
