Casting update for the Raymond Gubbay productions of the The Carl Rosa Opera Company at the Gielgud Theatre from 30 Jan to 1 March 2008, who perform three Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.

The Mikado (30 Jan - 9 Feb 2008). Features Nichola McAuliffe (Katisha) and Alistair McGowan (The Mikado), Eric Roberts Bruce Graham Steven Page Charlotte Page Lesley Cox Sophie-Louise Dann. Directed & designed by Peter Mulloy; choreography by David Furnell and conducted by Martin Handley. Transports us to the magnificent court of Titipu and the hilarious tale of love, corruption in local government, marriage, executions and heroics!

Iolanthe (11 - 16 Feb 2008). Features Steve Page, Bruce Graham, Barry Clark , Donald Maxwell/Gareth Jones, Karl Daymond, Charlotte Page, Sophie-Louise Dann, Victoria Ward. Directed & designed by Peter Mulloy; choreography by Steve Elias and conducted by Richard Balcombe. Iolanthe is banished for marrying a mortal and having his son, but when the young man wishes to marry, his fairy queen storms Wesminster to make him a Member of Parliament so he can win the girl with chaotic consequences!

Pirates of Penzance (18 Feb - 1 Mar 2008). Features Jo Brand (The Sergeant Of Police), Steven Page, Barry Clark, Michael Kerry, Beverley Klein, Sophie-Louise Dann, Lesley Cox . Directed & designed by Peter Mulloy; choreography by Steve Elias and conducted by Richard Balcombe. Orphaned pirates, flat footed policemen, a bevy of blushing maidens and the pretty daughter of Major General Stanley ... leads us through the squashbuckling world of young Frederic, the Pirate apprentice, who was born on February 29th in a leap year and therefore won't be 21 and come of age until he is 84!
