Casting has been announced for Alan Bennett's upcoming play Allelujah! at the Bridge Theatre, which opens in July.

The play, which is directed by Nicholas Hytner who opened the venue last year, is about a hospital in a small town in the Pennines threatened with closure as the NHS looks to improve efficiency.

Peter Forbes (Follies, National Theatre), Deborah Findlay (The Children, Royal Court) and Samuel Barnett (Kiss of the Spider Woman, Menier) will star in the production alongside Sacha Dhawan (The History Boys), David Moorst, Nicola Hughes, Gwen Taylor and Simon Williams.

The full cast includes Sam Bond, Jacqueline Chan, Jacqueline Clarke, Rosie Ede, Patricia England, Julia Foster, Manish Gandhi, Colin Haigh, Richard Hart, Nadine Higgin, Anna Lindup, Louis Mahoney, David Moorst, Jeff Rawle, Cleo Sylvestre, Sue Wallace, Duncan Wisbey and Gary Wood.

Allelujah! will open at the Bridge Theatre on 11th July, and run until 28th September.

Hytner's production will be choreographed by Arlene Phillips, and feature designs by Bob Crowley, lighting by Natasha Chivers and compositions from George Fenton.

Barney Norris' play Nightfall currently runs at the theatre starring Claire Skinner, and Laura Linney is set to make her London stage debut in My Name is Lucy Barton in June, before Allelujah! opens.

Allelujah! is at the Bridge Theatre from 11th July to 28th September.
