Clarke Peters now playing the role of 'Billy Flynn' in Chicago

Clarke Peters is now playing the role of 'Billy Flynn' in Chicago at the Adelphi theatre. He took over the part on Monday 23 May 2005.

Clarke Peters' London stage credits include "Chicago" at the Adelphi in 1998; "Unforgettable : The Nat King Cole Story" at the Garrick in 1995; "Guys and Dolls" at the Olivier, NT in 1996; "The Witches of Eastwick" at the Prince of Wales in 2001; "Mourning Becomes Electra" at the Lyttelton, NT in 2003; "Simply Heavenly" in 2004.

The rest of the cast includes: Brooke Shields ( 'Roxie Hart' to 25 June), Charley Izabella King (Velma Kelly ), Robert Hands (Amos Hart), Zee Asha(Mama Morton)

Chicago is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Scenic design is by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting by Ken Billington and sound by Rick Clarke. Musical supervision is by Rob Fisher and musical direction by Gareth Valentine. It is choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse and directed by Walter Bobbie.

Concerns Roxie, a chorus girl who has murdered her lover but manages to get acquitted with the help of sleazy lawyer.
