Danny Bayne and Susan McFadden are the winners of ITV1's "Grease is the Word" and will now play 'Danny and Sandy ' in Grease, which opens at the Piccadilly Theatre 8 Aug 2007, following previews from 25 July - booking to 23 Feb 2008.
The duo, were picked by a public phone vote.
Danny Bayne (19), said: "This is just amazing. I've had the best time and can't wait for Grease to start." Susan McFadden (24), who is the sister of former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, told presenter Zoe Ball: "I can't wait. I've waited so long to get here."
Other cast member confirmed is Siobhan Dillon as 'Patty Simcox'. Making her West End debut in Grease, Siobhan was discovered by David Ian and Andrew Lloyd Webber during their search for a leading lady in The Sound Of Music. She was one of the final three in BBC1’s How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and has since been writing and recording her debut album.
The rest of the cast announced on 14 June includes: Sean Mulligan (Kenickie), Jayde Westaby (Rizzo), Lee Martin (Doody), Richard Hardwick (Roger), Bennett Andrews (Sonny), Alana Phillips (Frenchy), Laurie Scarth (Jan), Charlie Cameron (Marty), Jason Capewell (Vince/Teen Angel), Tim Newman (Eugene), Marie Daly (Miss Lynch)
Grease is written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, with additional songs B Gibb, J Farrar, L St Louis & S Simon.
It is directed by David Gilmore, choreography by Arlene Phillips, and produced by Paul Nicholas and David Ian by arrangement with Robert Stigwood.
Songs from the show include 'Grease (Is The Word)'; 'You're The One That I Want'; 'Greased Lightning'; 'Hopelessly Devoted To You' and 'Sandy'.
