"EDEN" POSTS EARLY CLOSING NOTICES

Eugene O'Brien's Eden has posted early closing notices at the Arts Theatre. The last performance will be on Sat 14 Dec 02. The play, which only opened last month, was booking to 11 Jan 03, but will now close 4 weeks early.

The show received reasonable notices from the popular press, but has not been successful at the box office. THE EVENING STANDARD says, "This is an incredible two-hander....Suberb acting seals this potent evening" THE GUARDIAN says, "Purchasing a ticket for one of these plays is like finding yourself squashed into a seat and forced to listen to the pub bore." THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "Superbly performed.....Eden is a fine achievement, at once gripping and moving." THE STAGE says, "A great night out for the London Irish."

The play, directed by Conor McPherson, features Don Wycherley and Catherine Walsh.

Billy and Breda haven't had a night out together in years. Tonight, Breda's lost the weight and gained a babysitter and a new outfit and is ready to sweep Billy off his feet down at Flanagans. But Billy has other plans - most of them involving Imelda Egan.

This two-hander is the portrait of good times gone bad for two people who have promised to be together forever.
