Matthews Yard Theatre Company and the Drayton Arms Theatre will present Espresso by Lucia Frangione, directed by Aaron Blackmon at two different venues throughout January.

The production will have its premiere at the Matthew Yard Theatre in Croydon, south London, from 14 to 18 January, with an official press night on 16 January 2015. It will then transfer to the Drayton Arms Theatre in South Kensington, west London, where it will run from 20 to 31 January 2015.

The cast for the production at both venues will include Eleanor Russo and Niall Murray.

"Rosa's father is in hospital with a lacerated heart received in a car accident. At Amante's urging, Rosa tells the story of the hours after the accident - how her large Italian family descend on the hospital to wish her father well, and how deep dark family secrets become unburied in the aftermath of her father's accident."

This two-hander is described as a "semiautobiographical exploration of post-colonial Italian Catholicism and Christian eroticism from the Song of Solomon".
