‘Fearsome and incredibly funny’: Glengarry Glen Ross cast on David Mamet script
Plays by David Mamet often focus on controversial subjects, such as the upcoming world premiere of Bitter Wheat written after recent Hollywood scandals.
However, Mamet's plays are often praised, with Glengarry Glen Ross winning an Olivier Award for best new play when it was first performed in 1983 as well as Mamet winning a Pulitzer Prize.
The story of real estate agents who are prepared to engage in illegal and unethical behaviour to further their career returns to stages across the country, with a touring production of Glengarry Glen Ross recently opening at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking.
Before the tour started, we asked cast members Mark Benton and Nigel Harman and director Sam Yates their thoughts on the show, the script and how they feel about embarking on nationwide tours.
