Further casting for The Boy Friend at the Menier Chocolate Factory

Further casting has been announced for Matthew White's upcoming revival of Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend, already announced to be starring Janie Dee and Adrian Edmondson.

The musical is set at a finishing school in the south of France in the 1920s where groups of forbidden male friends sneak to the windows of the school's female residents to sing and dance with them.

Also announced to star in the musical is Jack Butterworth, Tiffany Graces, Dylan Mason, Amara Okereke and Issy van Randwyck.

Joining them will be Tom Bales (Alphonse), Ryan Carter (Pierre), Chloe Goodliffe (Nancy), Matthew Ives (Pépé), Bethany Huckle (Lolita), Emily Langham (Fay), Gabrielle Lewis-Dodson (Maisie), Annie Southall (Dulcie), Peter Nash (Marcel) and Robert Portal (Percival Brown).

The Boy Friend will run at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 22nd November 2019 to 7th March 2020, with an official opening night on 3rd December. Last year's Christmas musical at the Menier was Trevor Nunn's production of Fiddler on the Roof, which subsequently transferred to the West End's Playhouse Theatre.

Matthew White returns to the theatre following his previous Menier productions of the musicals She Loves Me, Candide, Sweet Charity, Little Shop of Horrors and The Last Five Years.

The Boy Friend is at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 22nd November.
