The Young Vic Theatre have today announced that comedian, actor, writer and director Harry Enfield will make his stage debut in Richard Jones' new production of Once in a Lifetime by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, adapted by Christopher Hart which runs at the Main House from 25 November 2016 to 14 January 2017.

Enfield will star alongside Daniel Abelson, Claudie Blakley, Okorie Chukwu, Lucy Cohu, Lizzy Connolly, Buffy Davis, Otto Farrant, Amy Griffiths, Amanda Lawrence and John Marquez with further casting to be announced.

"Three actors in a struggling vaudeville troupe travel West to try their luck in 1930s Hollywood. With the advent of talking pictures, it's a changing industry. A chance meeting with a film journalist gives the friends an idea: brimming with chutzpah they found a school of elocution for starlets of the silver screen, to help them adapt to 'talkies'. When their scheme takes off they are plunged into the frenetic world of a Hollywood studio, full of glitz and glamour - but as their responsibilities escalate, will the lustre last?"

Directed by Richard Jones it will feature design by Hyemi Shin and costumes by Nicky Gillibrand.

It was also announced that Joe Hill-Gibbins will return to the Young Vic with a new production of A Midsummer Night's Dream which will play the Main House from 17 February - 1 April 2017.

"The dark heart of Titania and Oberon's domain is explored in a world of grotesque transformations and sexual provocation, repressed conflicts between young lovers and their parents are released. There's no magic in this place - manipulation leads to complications and desire becomes dangerous."

The production will feature design and light by Johannes Schütz, with costumes by Michaela Barth, sound by Paul Arditti, movement by Jenny Ogilvie.

Tickets for Once in a Lifetime are now on sale.
