Harry Potter and the Cursed Child extends to September 2019
The West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has extended its run at the Palace Theatre into September 2019, it has been announced.
Presented in two parts, the play is the eighth story in JK Rowling's wizarding series, and premiered in London in July 2016. Directed by John Tiffany and with a script by Jack Thorne, it is the first official Harry Potter story written for the stage.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will book at the Palace Theatre until 29th September 2019, with tickets for this extended run on sale from 4th December.
The current London cast of the play stars Jamie Ballard, Franc Ashman, Thomas Aldridge, Helen Aluko, Joe Idris-Roberts and James Howard.
Since its world premiere in London, the production has also opened on Broadway, with more set to open in San Francisco, Melbourne and a German language production set to run in Hamburg.
Last month, an album of the music of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was released, featuring Imogen Heap's compositions for the show.
