Idomeneus by Roland Schimmelpfennig at Gate Theatre

The Gate Theatre, near Notting Hill Gate in west London, will present the UK premiere of Roland Schimmelpfennig's new play Idomeneus, translated by David Tushingham, beginning previews on 19 Jun 2014, with an official opening set for 23 Jun and continuing its limited engagement through to 19 Jul 2014.

Synopsis: 'Troy has fallen - and the Cretan General Idomeneus is on his way home. But the Gods are angry (aren't they always?) and so now Idomeneus must make a great sacrifice - but these sacrifices never pan out in the way we'd like them to. Now our General is really in trouble.'

The cast of Idomeneus features Alex Austin, Jon Foster, Mark Monero, Susie Trayling, and Ony Uhiara.

Idomeneus is directed by Ellen McDougall, and features scenic design by Ana Ines Jabares Pita, lighting by Lizzie Powell, and music and sound design by Jon Nicholls.
