The John Betjeman Gala, takes place at Prince of Wales Theatre, Sun 10 Sep 2006 at 7.30pm. (In aid of SANE)

John Betjeman (1906 - 1984) became the most popular and best loved British poet of the late twentieth century and became an institution. This gala performance is to celebrate his life and work. A evening of variety, music and dance.

Compered by Barry Humphries , guests (subject to availability) include Band British Sea Power, Suggs , Judi Dench , Nick Cave, Jools Holland, Richard E Grant, Ronnie Corbett and his wife Anne Hart, Rachel Stirling, Joanna Lumley, Kit and the Widow, Edward Fox, Prunella Scales, Bill Nighy, Jonathan Cecil, Kenneth Cranham, Miriam Margolis, Sinead Cusack, Timothy West, Joanna David, Stephen Fry, the Bishop of London, St Paul' s Church Choir. There will be a special video link to Dame Edna Everage from Australia.
