Directed by Deborah Warner, the play opens 20 Apr 2005, following previews from 14 Apr, and running to 14 May 2005.

Shakespeare's classic tale of conspiracy and treachery will feature a cast of over 100 people and is the second show to be produced by the Barbican following "The Black Rider" during BITE:04. John Shrapnel will play 'Julius Caesar', Simon Russell Beale (Cassius); Paul Rhys (Brutus); Ralph Fiennes (Antony)

It is designed by Tom Pye with lighting by Jean Kalman.

Following it's Barbican season Julius Caesar goes on a European tour to Theatre National de Chaillot, Paris, Teatro Espanol, Madrid and Grand Theatre de la Ville, Luxembourg, who, with BITE: 05, Barbican are co-producers of the project.
