"LIFE AFTER GEORGE" POSTS EARLY CLOSING NOTICES

Hannie Rayson's Life After George, has posted early closing notices at the Duchess theatre and will now close on 16th March 02. The play only opened last week and was booking to 15th June.

The closure cannot be blamed on the critics who gave the show good notices: THE DAILY TELEGRAPH said, "Intelligent, original and touching drama." THE GUARDIAN said, "Excellently directed....good performances." THE INDEPENDENT said, "This is the sort of theatre the cranially endowed have long been praying for".

The drama features Stephen Dillane as Peter George, and Cheryl Campbell, Joanne Pearce and Anna Wilson-Jones as the three wives.

When Professor Peter George, charismatic champion of free education and free love is killed in a plane crash, his three wives come together to arrange his funeral.

The play runs as a series of flashbacks, seen from the perspective of his three-ex wives . They mull over George's life as a charismatic university professor with a history of hippy activities in the 60s, with each wife representing a different era in George's life.
