"Lobby Hero" closes week early 10th Aug 02

Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero which was due to close on 17th Aug, will now close a week earlier on 10th Aug 02.

The play, which opened at the Donmar Warehouse in April for a limited run to 4th May 02, before transferring to the New Ambassadors theatre on 26th June, received good notices from the popular press : THE OBSERVER says, "Terrific production. " DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "Outstanding new play." THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Mark Brokaw's beautifully judged production hits all its comic targets." THE TIMES says, "A play to relish, a young American author to watch." THE STAGE says, "Extraordinarily absorbing play."

Directed by Mark Brokaw, the play features David Tennant, Gary McDonald, Charlotte Randle and Dominic Rowan

The drama concerns Jeff a doorman or ‘security officer’ as he prefers to be known. He’s a laid back, wisecracking guy who always strives to do the right thing. When he gets embroiled in the family problems of his security captain and falls for Dawn, a rookie cop with an all-too-macho police partner, it looks like 'doing the right thing' threatens to lose him everything.
