‘Matilda’ extends West End booking period through December 2022

The musical celebrates its 10th birthday in the West End this month.

The revolting children in Matilda are staying around for longer! Matilda will play an extended booking period at the Cambridge Theatre, with performances now scheduled through to 18 Dec. 2022. 

Matilda will also celebrate its 10th anniversary in the West End tonight, 12 November. Since opening at the Cambridge Theatre in 2011, Matilda has been seen by over four million people, and has won seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical. Based on the Roald Dahl story of the same, Matilda follows Matilda Wormwood, a gifted child who uses her powers for good and tries to defeat her evil headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Matilda is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

The role of Matilda is shared by Imogen Cole, Alyssa D'Souza, Alex Munden and Zoe Simon. Elliot Harper plays Miss Trunchbull, with Carly Thoms as Miss Honey, Sebastien Torkia as Mr Wormwood and Annette McLaughlin as Mrs Wormwood.
