A musical based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's autobiography Unmasked is set to be workshopped at The Other Palace later this year.

Written with Richard Curtis and directed by Laurence Connor, Unmasked will look at Lloyd Webber's life through song and other mediums, and is described as 'highly experimental' with no two performances likely to be the same.

The cast for the workshops, which run from 29th November to 1st December, includes Siobhan Dillon, Ben Forster, Tyrone Huntley, Rosanna Hyland, Ria Jones, Stephen Leask, Anna O'Byrne and Michael Xavier.

These four public workshops are part of preparations for a planned production in the USA.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's career began in the 60s when, along with lyricist Tim Rice, he wrote musicals such as The Likes of Us, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Jesus Christ Superstar. He has gone on to write some of the world's biggest musicals, such as The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Starlight Express, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, and School of Rock.

He was knighted in 1992 and became a Conservative member of the House of Lord in 1997, before he retired in 2017.

It is not clear from current marketing material whether Unmasked will exclusively feature music from Webber's past shows, or an original score.

Unmasked will run at The Other Palace from 29th November to 1st December.
