A new cast has been announced for Lucy Bailey's production of Witness for the Prosecution, which runs at London County Hall on the South Bank.

The play is about Leonard Vole, who stands trial for the murder of Emily French, a wealthy widow. However, the case is turned on its head with the appearance of an unexpected witness in the dock.

From 27th March, Vole will be played by Harry Reid, best-known for playing Ben Mitchell in EastEnders for almost four years, who will be making his stage debut in the production.

He will be joined by new cast members Lucy Phelps (King Charles III) as Romaine, Richard Clothier (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Sir Wilfrid Robarts, Julian Curry (The Alchemist) as Mr Justice Wainwright and Peter Moreton (The Winter's Tale) as Mr Mayhew.

Philip Franks, Richard Attlee, Jules Melvin and Hywel Simons will be continuing in the cast, and will be joined by new company members Charlotte Blackledge, Molly Jackson-Shaw, Parys Jordon, Tyler South, Antoinette Tagoe and Matt Weyland.

The production, which is designed by William Dudley, takes place in the council chamber at London County Hall, which served as the headquarters of local London councils for 64 years.

Witness for the Prosecution is at London County Hall until 16th September.
