After open auditions for the title role in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, it has been announced that Noah Thomas will make his West End debut as Jamie at the Apollo Theatre next year.

Noah Thomas will take over the lead role from Layton Williams from 6th January 2020, with Layton Williams reprising his performance in the show's national tour.

Speaking about the audition process, Thomas said: "Only two weeks ago I was studying at Mountview and had very little time to prepare for the audition, which I saw as a chance to gain some experience in the industry. I was asked back the next day, not expecting anything, and they asked me if I would like to play Jamie. I couldn't believe it... This is so surreal and I am so ready for whatever this experience holds."

The cast of Everybody's Talking About Jamie is currently completed by Melissa Jacques, Sejal Keshwala, Sabrina Sandhu, Phil Nichol, Marlon G Day, Momar Diagne, Zahra Jones, Luke Latchman Ziggy Tyler Taylor, Alex Anstey, Luke Baker, Tilly La Belle Yengo, James Gillan, Alexander Archer, Daniel Jacob, Emily Kenwright, Jordan Laviniere, Harriet Payne and Gillian Ford.

Rita Simons will play her final performance as Miss Hedge on 16th November, with Preeya Kalidas taking over the role from 18th November. Bianca Del Rio will reprise her performance as Hugo/Loco Chanelle from 9th December, after making her West End debut in Everybody's Talking About Jamie earlier this year.

Based on a BBC documentary, Everybody's Talking About Jamie tells the inspirational tale of Jamie, a 16-year-old schoolboy who decides to wear a dress to his high school prom, supported by his peers and mother, Margaret New. The musical features a book and lyrics by Tom MacRae, with music by The Feeling's Dan Gillespie Sells.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie is at the Apollo Theatre.
