The UK premiere of Australian musical Once We Lived Here will open at the King's Head Theatre, Islington North London on 4 Apr 2014, following previews from 2 Apr, running until 26 Apr 2014.

This original musical has been seen in Melbourne and New York, and will be produced in the UK by TheatreUpClose for the King's Head Theatre. The show is written by Matthew Frank and Dean Bryant, who also directs this new production. It is described as "a funny, touching and totally original musical about families, secrets and the passing of a way of life."

As Amy struggles to hold onto her family ranch, Emoh Ruo, after years of drought, falling wool prices and bushfires, she becomes determined to not let it slip away. When her family gather for a long hot weekend, the truth about the property and the lies upon which it has been built come to the forefront and Amy has to decide if she's holding on or if she's stuck.

Once We Lived Here features an international cast, led by Melle Stewart who will be familiar to audiences of Australian soap opera 'Home and Away'. She is joined by Iestyn Arwel who returns to the King's Head after appearing in their 2013 production of 'Quasimodo', along with Simone Craddock, Shaun Rennie and Belinda Wollaston.
