Pride and Prejudice: The Panto at the Cockpit

By Jove Theatre Company present Pride and Prejudice: The Panto at the Cockpit Theatre in Marylebone, north London, from 8 to 20 December 2015, with an official opening on 9 December 2015.

"Pitched as a battle between 'Good Fairy' Jane Austen and her wicked wordsmith antagonist Charles Dickens, the familiar story unfolds in the absurd, anarchic world of pantomime. Young Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters, cajoled by their mother Mrs Bennet (our Dame, of course) into marrying, must overcome the perils of passions, scandals and wet shirts in the pursuit of a husband. Will Dickens succeed in thwarting Austen's heroines? Or will they find love and, more importantly, happiness?"

Directed by David Bullen, the production features set design by James Walker-Black and choreography by Susanna Dye. Cast includes Sj Brady (Elizabeth Bennet), Dannie Pye (Mr Darcy), James Walker-Black (Mrs Bennet), Sian Mayhall-Purvis (Jane Bennet), Shereen Roushbaiani (Mary, Kitty & Lydia Bennet), Freya Evans/ (Jane Austen), Alexander Woodward (Charles Dickens), Elly Lowney (Head Chorus), Sinead Costelloe (Caroline Bingley / Chorus), Ella Garland (Mr Wickham / Chorus), Alice Trow (Anne De Bourgh / Chorus) and David Bullen (Mr Collins).
