Production images have been released for the stage premiere of The Knowledge, directed by Maureen Lipman at Charing Cross Theatre.

The Knowledge is an adaptation of Lipman's late husband's 70s television film. Jack Rosenthal's story comedy is about a group of people training to become London black cab drivers by doing 'The Knowledge', the process by which cabbies learn the 20,000 streets in London.

The film was shown in 1979 and starred Lipman alongside Nigel Hawthorne, Mick Ford and Kim Taylforth.

Steven Pacey leads the cast of the stage production as Mr Burgess, the Public Carriage Office examiner. He will be joined by James Alexandrou, Jenna Augen, Celine Abrahams, Louise Callaghan, Ben Caplan, Alice Felgate, Fabien Franke and Michael Chance. For more information on the cast, click here

Lipman, who is an Olivier Award-winning actress, has previously directed a production of Barefoot in the Park, in which she also starred, and was most recently seen on stage in Lettice and Lovage opposite Felicity Kendal.

The Knowledge will have set designs by Nicolai Hart-Hansen, costumes by Jonathan Lipman and sound design by Andrew Johnson. It is in previews at the Charing Cross Theatre now and will run until 11 November with an official opening night on 11th September.

The Knowledge Tickets are available now.
