This weekend's offering on The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel has been confirmed. From 11 December, audiences can relive the West End premiere of Ruthless, performed at the Arts Theatre two years ago.

Parodising Golden Age musicals and early 20th century Hollywood classics, Ruthless centres on Tina Denmark, an eight-year-old who'll stop at nothing to be the lead in her school play. Typically, the musical is played by an all-female cast, however the London production starred Jason Gardiner as Sylvia St. Croix/Ruth DelMarco.

Charlotte Breen, Fifi Bloomsbury-Khier, Lucy Simmonds and Anya Evans shared the role of Tina. Casting was completed by Kim Maresca, Tracie Bennett, Harriet Thorpe and Lara Denning.

In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Mark Shenton said: "It's a performance so broad that it chews the scenery and spits it out at the audience."

Ruthless premiered off-Broadway in 1992, with Natalie Portman and Britney Spears cast as understudies for Tina Denmark.

The West End production of Ruthless will be available to stream in the UK, United States and Canada from 11 December. For audiences outside of these regions, Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton will be available to watch.
