Stage adaptation of The Ladykillers by Graham Linehan at Gielgud Theatre from 26 Nov, directed by Sean Foley

A new stage adaptation by Graham Linehan, of the 1955 Ealing Comedy The Ladykillers, opens at the Gielgud Theatre 7 Dec 2011, following previews from 26 Nov - booking to 18 Feb 2012.

It is adapted from the screenplay by William Rose.

It is directed by Sean Foley, and features Peter Capaldi (Professor Marcus), James Fleet (Major Courtney), Ben Miller (Louis), Clive Rowe (One Round), Stephen Wight (Harry), Marcia Warren ( Mrs Wilberforce).

Tells the story of the eccentric little old lady Mrs Wilberforce who lives alone with her parrots in a strange lopsided house in King's Cross. Her life is turned upside down by the arrival of Professor Marcus and his four friends, who between them make up the most unlikely group of criminals. Planning the heist of a security van, they decide to use Mrs Wilberforce as cover and involve her unwittingly in the plot. Things do not go well and the Professor's plan starts to unravel in spectacular and hilarious fashion.

The Ladykillers has designs and costumes by Michael Taylor, lighting by James Farncombe, sound by Ben and Max Ringham, and is produced by Edward Snape for Fiery Angel, In association with Stage Entertainment UK and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse.

Prior to opening at London's Gielgud Theatre the production will play at the Liverpool Playhouse from November 3rd - 19th 2011
