The season will continue with two plays directed by Lindsay Posner: Ryan Craig’s *The Holy Rosenbergs* and Peter Shaffer’s modern classic *Equus*.

New lead casting has been revealed for [*The Devil Wears Prada*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/34706-the-devil-wears-prada) at the Dominion Theatre in the West End. 

Taking over from 21 October are Stevie Doc (*Mamma Mia!*) and Taila Halford (*School of Rock*), playing the roles of Andy and Emily respectively. They replace Georgie Buckland and Amy Di Bartolomeo who originated the roles in the West End.

The Devil Wears Prada musical has a score by Elton John and Shaina Taub (*Suffs*), a book by Kate Wetherhead (*Burlesque the Musical*), and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell (*Kinky Boots*).

The musical follows Andy as she secures a job at a fashion magazine under the watchful eye of Runway editor in chief Miranda Priestly. But as the job becomes increasingly demanding, she wonders just how much she'll sacrifice to get ahead.

The creative team has set design by Tim Hatley, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Bruno Poet, and sound design by Gareth Owen.

Further casting is to be announced.

As she navigates the demands of her high-powered boss, Miranda Priestly, Andy discovers that the world of high fashion is both alluring and brutal. 

*The Devil Wears Prada* is set to make its London debut in October 2024, following a developmental run in Chicago in 2022. Prior to its London transfer, the production will have an exclusive preview engagement at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.

The creative team includes set designer Tim Hatley, costume designer Gregg Barnes, lighting designer Bruno Poet, and sound designer Gareth Owen.

## What to watch for
- The novel's author, Lauren Weisberger, served as an assistant to the renowned Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. Many view the character of Miranda Priestly as a fictionalised portrayal of Wintour.
- Meryl Streep's portrayal of Miranda Priestly earned her an Academy Award nomination. Streep famously took the role without reading the script, as she was intrigued by the chance to work with Anne Hathaway and other members of the cast.
- *The Devil Wears Prada* was a commercial success, grossing over $300 million worldwide.
- The film includes cameo appearances by several well-known fashion figures, including designers Valentino Garavani and Heidi Klum.

Vanessa Williams's illustrious career includes a starring role on TV's *Ugly Betty* and *Desperate Housewives*. 

Williams first appeared Off Broadway in *One Man Band*, and has appeared on Broadway in such shows as *Into the Woods*, *Sondheim on Sondheim*, and *Silver and Gold*. She made her West End debut in *City of Angels* in 2020.

Matt Henry is currently starring in *The Devil Wears Prada* at the Dominion Theatre starting 24 October 2024. 

Henry has previously competed in *The Voice UK*, and he made his West End debut in 2002 as an understudy for Simba in *The Lion King*. He would go on to have a tenure in *Avenue Q* at the Noël Coward Theatre. 

Henry also appeared as Lola on Broadway in *Kinky Boots* in 2015.

The Dominion Theatre, located in London, is an iconic venue with a remarkable history, hosting musicals, concerts, and performances for almost a century. Established in 1929, it prides itself in its distinctive Art Deco style that resonates with its visitors and transports them to a majestic era. The theatre provides a large capacity of over 2,000 seats, making it one of the largest in London. Known for hosting some of the greatest musicals of all time, the Dominion Theatre became a prominent venue for 'We Will Rock You' - a musical inspired by the band Queen. The stage has seen performances from many famous artists, including Judy Garland. 

### How to Get to the Venue 

The Dominion Theatre is conveniently situated at the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road, making it easily accessible by public transport. The closest tube station is Tottenham Court Road, which is only a minute’s walk away. Services from the Northern and Central Line serve this station. Multiple bus routes also pass close to the theatre including 7, 8, 14, 19, 24, 29, 38, 55, 73, 98, 134, 176, and 242. For those driving, the nearest car park is an NCP on Adeline Place, with a 24-hour car park on Great Russell Street.

The Dominion Theatre opened on 3 Oct. 1929. The theatre is located on the site of the former Horse Shoe Brewery, site of the 1814 London Beer Flood.

The theatre screened the premiere of Charlie Chaplin’s film, *City Lights* (with Chaplin himself attending). During its history, the Dominion Theatre hosted movies such as *South Pacific* and *The Sound of Music*, whilst interspersed with live performances, most famously the *Judy Garland Show*. In the 1980s, music stars played at the Dominion Theatre, including Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, David Bowie and U2.  

In the early 1990s, plans were set to convert the theatre into a car park, but this was not followed through. Now, the Dominion Theatre is home to large musicals, including *Grease,* a 12-year run of *We Will Rock You,* and *The Prince of Egypt.*

The auditorium has two levels – the Stalls and Circle. It is a very large space and offers excellent views of the stage wherever you sit.

In the Stalls, the rake of the seating is very good, offering excellent views from most seats and the legroom is excellent too. 

In the Circle, the seats are strongly raked which offers a great view.
