Stomp now booking to 8 Jan 2017 at Ambassadors

Long running West End entertainment Stomp has extended its booking period to 8 January 2017 at the Ambassadors Theatre as it prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2016.

The show will celebrate eight years at the Ambassadors this Sunday (27 September) where it has broken all previous box office records. The show has enjoyed over 20,000 performances to more than 12 million people in 53 countries on 6 continents.

Stomp, which started life in Brighton, UK, in the summer of 1991, opened in London's West End at the Vaudeville Theatre in Sep 2002 and ran for 5 years before ending its run at the venue on 23 Sep 2007. It then transferred to the Ambassadors Theatre on 27 Sep 2007, where it continues today.

In 2009, the production added new routines, new choreography and new music.

Originally created in Brighton in 1991 by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, Stomp is a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy. Since its inception, the production has toured to 39 diverse countries from Russia to Brazil, Australia to Japan and Germany to Taiwan and has become an international stage phenomenon. It also played a significant role in the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

Stomp finds beauty and music in the mundane - from boots and bins to zippo lighters and plumber's plungers - everything including the kitchen sink becomes part of this production as a cast of 8 performers make instruments out of brooms and turn hand-clapping into conversation. With energy and toe-tapping exuberance, Stomp takes the clutter and junk of everyday life and transforms it into a theatrical event.
