Summer Strallen - the next 'Maria' ?

Summer Strallen is expected to be confirmed as the next 'Maria' in The Sound of Music, on Channel 4's teen drama Hollyoaks!!

Andrew Lloyd Webber is set to make his acting debut with a cameo appearance in the teen drama. He will take centre stage in a storyline involving Bonnie Langford's neice Summer Strallen, who plays theatrical student Summer Shaw in the show.

Summer is convinced she has the talent to succeed in the West End and stalks Andrew Lloyd Webber, who plays himself, in her pursuit of stardom. She finally manages to secure an audition, but does she have the talent? Viewers with have to wait until February 1st to find out.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: "I have blurred fiction with fact all my life but never before on national television. Bless Hollyoaks for asking me".

Connie Fisher ends her run at the London Palladium on 23 Feb 2008 - Summer Strallen is expected to take over on 25 Feb 2008.

Summer Strallen's recent London Stage credits include "The Drowsy Chaperone" at the Novello Theatre in 2007; "Dick Whittington and His Cat" at the Baricam in 2006/7 "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Boyfriend" at the Open Air theatre in 2006; "Guys and Dolls" at the Piccadilly in 2005.
