Sunday in the Park with George to transfer to Wyndham's from 13 May 2006

Sunday in the Park With George , which ends its sold out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory on 12 March 2006, will transfer to the West End at The Wyndham's Theatre, opening on 23 May 2006, following previews from 13 May 2006.

The Wyndham's Box office says Tickets expected to go on sale next week!

The cast includes Daniel Evans (George), Jenna Russell (Dot) (Taking over from Anna Jane Casey) , Simon Green, Mark McKerracher, Alasdair Harvey , Liza Sadovy , Gay Soper.

Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by James Lapine, directed by Sam Buntrock, designed by David Farley, lighting by Natasha Chiver.

The musical celebrates the art of creation and the creation of art. In the first half, set in 1884, the people - and the animals - in the painting come to life in a world where, for artist Georges, art comes before love, before everything. In the second half, set a century later, Seurat's great-grandson is searching for inspiration amidst the unforgiving world of contemporary art in New York.
