"THE GLEE CLUB" TRANSFERS TO DUCHESS THEATRE

Following the sell-out season at the Bush Theatre, which ended Saturday, The Glee Club by Richard Cameron will transfer to the West End at the Duchess Theatre, opening 22nd April 02, following previews from 17th April 02, and booking to 12th Oct 02 (Tickets go on sale Wed 3rd Apr)

Directed by Mike Bradwell, the play features David Bamber, James Hornsby, Oliver Jackson, Shaun Prendergast, David Schofield, and Roderick Smith.

It is designed by Bruce Macadie, with lighting by Rick Fisher

The Glee Club, made up of five hard-working, hard drinking Yorkshire miners and a Church Organist, is preparing for its annual appearance at the local Gala. They may not be at the vanguard of the musical revolution, but they sing like a dream. But any hopes of stardom or even a peaceful life are shattered as that summer of 1962 brings about changes in the lives of every member of the group. Sometimes compassion and understanding, as well as bigotry and cowardice, can come from the most unlikely of places
