"The Reduced Shakespeare Company" to close for 2 months from 3 Apr 2005 "Amajuba (Like Doves We Rise)" replaces it.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company are to close for 2 months from 3 Apr 2005 to 31 May 2005.

During this brief break Amajuba (Like Doves We Rise) will play at the Criterion Theatre for 8 weeks.

"Eager and excited, the triumphant trio are packing their doublets and hoses, leaving the Criterion Theatre and returning to America. Upon landing they will make a start on writing a brand new show - The Complete Hollywood (abridged) – to be ready for autumn this year. Lights! Camera! Reduction!"

The current UK tour of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) will continue uninterrupted through to July.

The company, which has been at the Criterion Theatre since March 1996, present three shows:

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
(Plays Wed, Fri & Sat 8pm / Mats Thurs 3pm, Sat 5pm & Sun 4pm)
Perform 37 Shakespeare plays in less than 1 hour 45 minutes.

The Complete History of America (Abridged)
(plays Tues only at 8pm )

The Bible - Complete Word of God (Abridged)
(Plays Thurs only at 8pm)
Offers an abridged version of the Bible in less than two hours

The writers of the shows include Adam Long, Daniel Singer, Jess Winfield, Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor.

Amajuba (Like Doves We Rise) will play at the Criterion Theatre for 8 weeks (from 5 April to 28 May 2005) during The Reduced Shakespeare's absence. Written by Yael Farber this is a celebration of ten years of freedom in South Africa as told through the experiences of the cast members, the Farber Foundry Co, all of whom were present through the momentous years leading up to the fall of apartheid...
