UPDATE: The Phantom of the Opera will be available to stream for 48 hours from October 9. Viewers will now be able to watch Alfie Boe on October 16 and The War of the Worlds on October 23.

The online channel The Shows Must Go On! will return with new shows made available to watch online. Rather than announcing one show per week, productions will be named as part of seasons of content. Titled "The Greats on Tour", the first season will include Fame, as well as performances from Michael Ball, Alfie Boe and The War of the Worlds.

The season will commence with the 30th anniversary production of Fame, starring Mica Paris and Jorgie Porter. The hit musical with songs including "Bring On Tomorrow" and "Think of Meryl Streep" is available to stream from 25 September at 7pm for 48 hours.

On 2 October, viewers will be able to stream Michael Ball's 2009 show, Past and Present. Filmed at the Royal Albert Hall, there's songs from Hairspray and Les Miserables covered by the Olivier Award-winning actor. One week later, viewers can watch Alfie Boe's Bring Him Home Tour, with musical performances from Boe alongside Matt Lucas, Melanie C and Tom Fletcher. The Bring Him Home Tour is available from 9 October.

The first season ends with the 2012 touring production of Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds. The groundbreaking production stars Jason Donovan, Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson and Kerry Ellis. Filmed at London's O2 Arena, audiences can see the 35-foot tall Martian Fighting Machine from 16 October at 7pm for 48 hours.

Editor's note: Due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2021 arena tour of The War of the Worlds was postponed. The show will now tour from March 2022.

Information on upcoming seasons is to be announced.

Previous shows streamed include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats and Hairspray Live! starring Jennifer Hudson.
