‘The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical’ sets further West End casting
David Hunter and Joanna Woodward play Henry and Clare in the romantic musical, based on Audrey Niffenegger’s 2003 novel, with performances from autumn 2023.
There’s no need to travel through time here. The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical reveals three more cast members. The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical begins previews at the Apollo Theatre on 7 October, with an opening night on 1 November.
Based on the 2003 novel of the same name, and the 2009 film starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, The Time Traveller's Wife: The Musical follows Henry and Clare's unconventional relationship. The musical premiered with a two-week run at Chester Storyhouse. Bill Buckhurst directs David Hunter and Joanna Woodward who continue as Henry and Clare, alongside Tim Mahendran as Gomez, Hiba Elchikhe as Charisse, and Ross Dawes as Henry’s Dad.
Lauren Gunderson adapts the story for the stage, with original music and lyrics by Joss Stone and Dave Stewart, and additional music by Nick Finlow and additional lyrics by Kait Kerrigan. The creative team includes Anna Fleischle (design,) Shelley Maxwell (choreography,) Lucy Carter (lighting,) and Richard Brooker (sound.)
