The Yard Theatre, a performing arts space in Hackney, east London, has announced details of two upcoming plays at its venue.

Brenda by E V Crowe will be a collaboration between HighTide Festival Theatre and Daniel Brodie Productions, and run from 22 September to 17 October 2015.

"Broke and losing hope fast, this story is about Brenda and Robert. Brenda doesn't think she's a person. Robert thinks he knows what it will take to change her mind. He's ready to try anything."

The play will star Alison O'Donnell and Jack Tarlton with direction by Caitlin McLeod and design by James Turner.

This will be followed by Lines by Pamela Carter, directed by Jay Miller which runs from 27 October to 21 November 2015.

"We meet our young lads as civilians and watch them transform into soldiers. They finish their training and are unleashed into an unknown peacetime. But what do soldiers do when there's no one to fight?"

The Yard Theatre describes itself as "a space to explore new ideas, to nurture new talent and to share new experiences". Built using recycled and reclaimed materials, The Yard sits within a converted warehouse in Hackney Wick.
