Tina the Musical to extend booking period in the West End to June 2020

An extended booking period for Tina the Musical at the Aldwych Theatre has been announced, with performances now scheduled to 27th June 2020.

Receiving its world premiere in the West End in 2018, the musical charts the life and career of Tina Turner, a small-town performer from Tennessee who became a global superstar with hits including 'Proud Mary' and 'River Deep - Mountain High', with the musical focusing on her life in and out of the spotlight.

The extended booking period for Tina the Musical will go on sale on 9th September.

The cast of Tina the Musical currently stars Nkeki Obi-Melekwe in her West End debut as the titular performer, joined by Ashley Zhangazha as Ike Turner. From 23rd September, Aisha Jawando will take over the role of Tina Turner from Obi-Melekwe.

The adult cast is completed by Madeline Appiah, Irene Myrtle Forrester, Howard Gossington, Francesca Jackson, Ava Brennan, Jammy Kasongo, Edward Bourne, Oscar Batterham, Daniella Bowen, Chloe Chambers, Joelle Dyson, Lejaun Sheppard, Joseph Richardson, Kibong Tanji, Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli, Cameron Bernard Jones and Ashlee Irish.

Tina the Musical will receive its Broadway premiere at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre from 12th October, ahead of an official opening night on 7th November. Adrienne Warren will reprise her performance as Tina Turner in the Broadway production, with more information on our sister site New York Theatre Guide

Tina the Musical is booking at the Aldwych Theatre until 27th June 2020, with tickets for the new booking period available on 9th September.
