Two King’s Head Theatre plays to transfer to Trafalgar Studios
Two productions from the King's Head Theatre in Islington are to transfer to the West End.
Adam Spreadbury-Maher (King's Head AD) and Becca Marriott's adaptation of La bohème will run at Trafalgar Studios 2 from 6th December to 6th January. The production sets Puccini's opera in present-day East London. Marriott plays Mimi in the production, and is joined by Roger Paterson, Matthew Kimble, Matthew Palmer, Honey Rouhani, Lizzie Holmes and Thomas Isherwood.
Strangers in Between, by playwright Tommy Murphy, will then run at the space from 10th January to 3rd February. It tells the story of 16 year-old Shane who runs away from his rural hometown in search of the glitz of Sydney's Kings Cross. The dark comedy stars Roly Botha, Dan Hunter and Stephen Connery-Brown.
Recently, the King's Head Theatre announced it would submitting plans to relocate to a new purpse-built venue ten doors down from its current space. The plans were backed by Joanna Lumley and Mark Gatiss.
