Wicked extends booking to November 2017 as new cast begins performances

500,000 new tickets now on sale as Rachel Tucker returns.

Wicked the Musical has today released 500,000 new tickets for performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, extending its booking period to 4 November 2017, it's 22nd booking extension.

The hit musical, which will celebrate its 10th Anniversary on 27 September 2016, opened at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on 27 September 2006, following previews from 07 September, and has since been seen by almost 6 million people.

As of today, the new cast for the production includes the return of Rachel Tucker in the lead role of Elphaba, having just returned from playing the role on Broadway. Australian star Suzie Mathers begins performances as (Glinda), as well as Anita Dobson as Madame Morrible, Martin Ball as Doctor Dillamond and Idriss Kargbo as Boq. They will join continuing cast members Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Alice Fearn (Standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda).

The full company as of 5 September 2016 also includes James Darch, Kerry Enright, Freya Field, Joseph Fletcher, Fraser Fraser, David Gale, Sergio Giacomelli, Alexandra Grierson, Olivia Kate Holding, Aaron Jenkins, Claudia Kariuki, Will Lucas, Chanel Mian, Billy Mitchell, Scott Monello, Ella Nonini, Rosa O'Reilly, Julienne Schembri, Joe Sleight, Jessamy Stoddart, Paulo Teixeira, Joe Toland, Hannah Toy, Russell Walker, Sasha Wareham and Helen Woolf.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is directed by Joe Mantello with scenic design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, orchestrations by William David Brohn, musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, David Stone, and Michael McCabe.
