ZooNation's Into the Hoods at Novello from 14 March

Into the Hoods, ZooNation's street dance/theatre version of Stephen Sondheim's musical, opens at the Novello Theatre 26 March 2008, following previews from 14 March 2008 - booking to 10 May 2008.

Directed and choreographed by Kate Prince, puts an urban spin on the story and sets it to a soundtrack of music by artists including Gorillaz, Basement Jaxx, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyes Peas and The Chemical Brothers.

ZooNation updates the action to an urban setting, telling the story of two children lost in the 'hood'. An evil landlord befriends the children and they are offered a room in his tenement block on the condition that they work for him. Reluctantly, the children embark on their mission which leads them to the flats of Spinderella, where they discover gold adidas trainers; Lil Red, the owner of the bright red hoodie; Rapper, the producer of the finest quality long weave (hair extensions) in the city, and Jaxx (who lives in the basement...), the owner of a white Ipod. But is stealing really the way to get out of the hood?
