The 2017 Tony Award nominations were announced this morning at a ceremony hosted by Christopher Jackson and Jane Krakowski. Following an intense season of new plays, revivals and a record breaking amount of new musicals, the field was narrowed to the following list of hit shows all hoping to walk away with the top prize come the ceremony on June 8, hosted by Kevin Spacey.

New musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 led the pack with 12 nominations, followed closely by the revival of Hello, Dolly! starring Bette Midler with 10 nominations. Dear Evan Hansen picked up 9 nominations, with other new musicals Come From Away and Groundhog Day the Musical earning 7 a piece.

On the plays front, new play Oslo, which is set to transfer to London later this year, earned 7 nominations with the revival of August Wilson's Jitney and The Little Foxes both earning 6. Pulitzer Prize-winner Sweat earned 3 nominations, alongside Indecent.

This year, our New York Editor has covered all the major Broadway openings and with his team of reviewers has filed reviews for each of the new productions.
