A cabaret celebrating 90 years of Sherman songwriting A Spoonful of Sherman, featuring Robert J Sherman, will be revived for a limited run at the St James Theatre Studio in Victoria from 15 to 22 April 2014

A Spoonful of Sherman returns to the St James Theatre Studio for a limited run, featuring songs from three generations of the Sherman Brothers.

The show features musical direction and arrangements by Colin Billing. Produced by Musicworld Ltd (UK) and The Entertainment Business association St James Productions.

The Sherman Brothers are most fondly remembered for their work on movie musicals such as 'Mary Poppins', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' and 'The Jungle Book', all of which have since been made into stage musicals. In this intimate cabaret, their most famous songs are brought to life by West End performers including: Greg Castiglioni, Stuart Matthew Price, Charlotte Wakefield and Emma Williams. They are joined onstage by the son of Robert Sherman, Robbie Sherman, who will narrate the evening and also demonstrate his own work as a composer. The production will feature classic songs from the Sherman Brothers repertoire, as well as songs by their father - the Tin Pan Alley composer Al Sherman.

Emma Williams' London stage credits include the world premiere of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' at the London Palladium, in which she created the role of Truly Scrumptious opposite Michael Ball. Charlotte Wakefield recently starred as Maria in the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production of 'The Sound of Music'. Please note that Robert J Sherman will not be appearing on Tuesday 15 or Friday 18 April.
