Above Stag Theatre season to December 2010

The Above the Stag Theatre, a fringe venue in Victoria, central London have announced its season to December 2010.

BLINK TWICE ! !, Devised by Peter Bull and Tim McArthur, from 27 July to 22 Aug 2010. Directed by Tim McArthur. Offers more showstoppers from the musicals you missed and will feature lost or forgotten gems by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jerry Herman, Kander & Ebb, Stephen Sondheim plus some truly memorable moments from not so well known writers!

MAURICE, by Roger Parsley and Andy Graham, from the novel by E. M. Forster, from 4 to 26 Sep 2010. Directed by Tim McArthur. Cast includes Laura Armstrong, Gavin Dobson, Alec Gray, Jonathan Hansler, Persia Lawson, Adam Lilley, Leanne Masterton, Stevie Raine, Rob Stott, Gil Sutherland. Maurice is heading for Cambridge, his future mapped out for him. But, when he falls in love with a man he finds himself at odds with his family, the class system, society and the law.

THE IRISH CURSE, a comedy by Martin Casella, from 28 Sep to 24 Oct 2010. Does size matter? It certainly does for the five guys who meet every week at Father Shaunessey's self help group in the Catholic church basement in Brooklyn Heights. All afflicted by the 'Irish Curse' (small penises) they gossip, moan and share unmentionable secrets! Gay cop Stephen has a lot to live up to, lawyer Joseph's wife has just left him, student Rick is chasing every girl who comes his way and Father Shaunessy has his own reasons to be there. When the fresh faced Keiran appears on the scene - his wedding day imminent - they suddenly find they have a lot to face up to.

THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES, a comedy by Jeff Goode, from 2 to 28 Nov 2010. Directed by Jon Nathan and Matthew Lloyd Davies. Produced by Lunatics and the Poor. When a doe says 'no', she means 'no'. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, implicating everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer. ...and murkier and murkier.

ROBIN HOOD - QUEEN OF THIEVES, a pantomime by Jon Bradfield and Martin Hooper, from 30 Nov to 22 Dec 2010. Robin Hood: Scourge of the rich, friend to the poor, champion archer and outlaw (but with a day job as a nurse at Friar Tuck's Sherwood Forest Cottage Hospital).
