Alistair Brammer to join cast of Wicked as Fiyero this summer
Actor Alistair Brammer is set to join the West End cast of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre this summer.
Brammer first appeared in the West End as Marius in the London production of Les Miserables, with other West End roles including Billy in War Horse and Chris in the Price Edward production of Miss Saigon. He went on to reprise the latter role on Broadway, when Miss Saigon was revived in 2017 at the Broadway Theatre.
He will join the cast to play Fiyero in the West End production of Wicked from 22nd July 2019 taking over from David Witts, who will play his final performance in the role on 20th July.
Further Wicked casting is set to be announced in the coming months. The current cast of Wicked includes Alice Fearn as Elphaba, and Sophie Evans as Glinda.
Currently the 9th longest-running show in West End history, Wicked is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire which imagines the backstory of the characters from L Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It focuses on friends Glinda and Elphaba as they meet at Shiz University.
The musical has a score by Stephen Schwartz which includes the numbers "Defying Gravity", "For Good" and "Popular".
Wicked s currently booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 23rd May 2020.
