Andrew Boyer is set to join the West End cast of Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre, as original cast member Shaun Prendergast leaves the show.

Boyer, who will play Old Joe - the owner of the diner Jenna works at - is known for his appearances in the TV show Law and Order, as well as UK touring productions of Of Mice and Men and Shawshank Redemption.

He will take over the role after Prendergast plays his final performance at the Adelphi Theatre this Saturday, 10th August.

Currently starring Lucie Jones in the lead role, the musical is about a diner waitress who finds herself stuck between an abusive relationship and a complicated affair. Based on the film by Adrienne Shelley, it has music by songwriter Sara Bareilles and features an all-female creative team. You can watch our interview with the cast (including Prendergast) speaking about working with an all-female team below.

Also on Monday, original cast member Laura Baldwin will re-join the cast in the role of Dawn.

Waitress is booking the Adelphi Theatre until 4th January 2020.

Waitress tickets are available now.
