The Royal Court Theatre has announced the full cast for its upcoming production of Birdland by Simon Stephens from 3 April to 31 May 2014.
Joining the previously announced Andrew Scott in the role of Paul, will be Nikki Amuka-Bird, Daniel Cerqueira, Yolanda Kettle, Alex Price and Charlotte Randle.
Nikki Amuka-Bird has previously appeared at the Royal Court Theatre in 'Love and Information' as well as productions of 'The Trial of Ubu' and 'The Gods Weep' at Hampstead Theatre. Daniel Cerqueira's theatre credits include 'Feast' and 'Cleansed' at the Royal Court and 'Table' at the National Theatre. Charlotte Randle was most recently seen in 'The Lyons' at the Menier Chocolate Factory and 'The King's Speech' at the Wyndham's Theatre. Alex Price has worked on both stage and screen, most recently the TV series 'Merlin' and 'Doctor Who'. Yolanda Kettle's credits include the Young Vic’s production of 'A Doll’s House' in the West End, Hello/Goodbye at Hampstead Theatre.
Birdland is a new play by Simon Stephens, directed by Associate Director of the Royal Court Carrie Cracknell. Set during the last week of a massive international tour and rock star Paul is at the height of fame. As the end of the road begins to loom ahead, reality hits and he realises the music is starting to jar.
