Further casting has been announced for upcoming West End production of True West, set to star Kit Harington at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Sam Shepard's play, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1983, is about a Hollywood writer working on his latest blockbuster script, when his unruly brother appears and convinces the producer to make a different film based on his idea instead. It runs at the Vaudeville Theatre from 23rd November.

Harington, best-known for playing Jon Snow in the hit series Game of Thrones, plays screenwriter Austin while Johnny Flynn, known for appearing in the Netflix series Lovesick, will play brother Lee.

American actor Madeleine Potter (Broken Glass, Tricycle Theatre) and Donald Sage Mackay ('Modern Family') will star alongside Harington. They are expected to play the roles Mom and producer Saul Kimmer, respectively.

Directed by Matthew Dunster, True West will have set and costume designs by Jon Bausor.

Harington, who starred in the original National Theatre production of War Horse, follows up his last London stage performance in Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's Theatre while Flynn previously appeared in Jez Butterworth's play Jerusalem alongside Mark Rylance, and was nominated for the Olivier Award for best supporting actor.

Potter has appeared both on Broadway and in the West End, taking on roles in plays such as The Crucible and Ibsen's The Master Builder in New York, and at the National Theatre, Peter Hall's production of An Ideal Husband, as well as Southwark Fair, directed by Nicholas Hytner.

Mackay has appeared on stage in New York in Linda at Manhattan Theatre Club and Stop. Reset at Signature NY. True West will be his London stage debut.

True West is at the Vaudeville Theatre from 23rd November to 16th February.
