Casting confirmed for "Messiah - Scenes From A Crucifixion" with Steven Berkoff Old Vic 25 Nov 03

Casting is now confirmed for Steven Berkoff's Messiah - Scenes From A Crucifixion, which opens at the Old Vic Theatre 2 Dec 03, following previews from 25 Nov 03, and booking to 3 Jan 2004.

Directed by and starring Steven Berkoff as Satan, the rest of the cast includes Greg Hicks (Christ), Michael Jenn (Pontius Pilate), Ray Sawyer (Caiphus), John Coyne (John the Baptist), Brendan Hughes (Judas)

Berkoff's radical interpretation of Biblical events finds Christ presented as a revolutionary figure, hatching a plot to overthrow the occupying Roman forces. The Christ figure is also tempted by Satan and believes he has a messianic prophecy to fulfil by his actions.
